TIG and MIG welding and Precautions-Bango Alloy

TIG welding (GTAW) is a welding method which using pure Ar as the
shielding
gas,using tungsten as a welding electrode. TIG welding wire supplied as a certain length (usually lm) of the straight strip.

MIG welding is a welding method which using melting inert gas protect
welding
, using inert gas such as Ar mainly to protect the gas, including pure Ar or Ar gas mixture a small amount of reactive gases (such as below 2% O2 or 5% of the CO2 gas) to melting polar electric arc. MIG welding wire supplied in layers around the way into the volume or discoid.

As
TIG
and MIG welding use pure Ar as major protective gas, so the outside air, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and other harmful gases is difficult to enter the pool; and argon does not produce harmful gases or impurities in weld performance; argon for welding and the pool of the alloy oxide such as making the welding joint rarely has an extremely excellent overall physical and chemical properties. But may be detrimental to the welding efficiency and weld penetration and so on. Therefore, it is appropriate based on ingredients as close to the base metal wire element wire as the principle of selection.

TIG Welding Precautions

1. Shielding gas flow requirements: When the welding current between the 100-200A is 7-12L/min; When the welding current between 200-300A is appropriate for the 12-15L/min. Because the damage caused to send the trachea to protect the gas mixed with wet air, the performance of welded joints is influential.

2. The relative length of
tungsten
out of the nozzle should be as short as possible, the arc length of the arc length should be 1-4mm in general control subject (when welding carbon steel 2-4mm; low-alloy steel and stainless steel welding for the 1-3mm) ;

3. When the wind speed is greater than 1.0m/s, wind measures should be used; attention to ventilation, to avoid damage to the operator;

4. Welding strictly clear oil, rust, water impurities.

5. We recommend the use of steep drop external characteristics of DC power, tungsten is anode.

6. More than 1.25% Cr in welding low-alloy steel, the back should also be protected.

MIG Welding Precautions

1. Shielding gas flow to 20-25L/min appropriately;

2. The general control of arc length about 4-6mm;

3. The influence of wind on the weld at particular risk when the wind speed is greater than 0.5m/s wind measures should be used ; attention to ventilation, to avoid damage to the operator;

4. Using the pulsed arc current, arc jet can be stable, especially suitable for stainless steel, sheet, vertical welding, welding;

5. Please use the Ar +2% O2 gas combination welding low carbon stainless steel, should not used mixed Ar and CO2 welding class steel;

6. Welding strictly clear oil, rust, water impurities.
